1.
I recorded the drum parts to this track in an abandoned civic center that has since been torn down.
2.
I had the hardest time being "okay" with this being the second song on the album; it's a long drone piece, definitely not something that would engage a casual listener. If that's you, sorry.
3.
you're going to hear a lot of organ inspired sounds on this album, FYI
4.
Honestly nothing I can say about this track will do it justice, I'm not really worthy enough to attempt something this serious and meaningful.
5.
The 'finale' of the first half of the album; congratulations! Also, there are tiny parts of this track that I recorded on a toy piano from the 50s that was gifted to me, if you're in the mood for some interesting(?) trivia.
6.
My good friend Jonathan Gore is fantastic at making his friend's uke bass sing on this track.
7.
All credit and love goes to the fantastic Ray Bradbury for writing beautiful words that I can steal and put on songs of mine.
8.
Song for JCW 02:38
Joke song title that stuck; whoops.

Bird Seed 04:03
This is actually the "oldest" track on this album; I made this one way back in 2012/2013. I'm amazed that, despite my style changing significantly over the years, this one has found a place.

"you are the rock and the star....and don't you forget it." I hope this album has brought you some semblance of positivity, and that you'll pass that positivity onto someone else! Get out there and love.

about

The Stoic is my second full length EP. It's an 'esoteric concept album' about dealing with loss and failure. There are a lot of elements in the album that have been meditative for me, and letting it exist with it's flaws is a personal growth for myself as an artist.

Jonathan Livingston was gracious enough to let me use his improvised piece as "Song for JCW"

Thanks to Jonathan Gore for performing the U-Bass piece for "When I try to be Still," and for their fantastic input on the album during the final stages.

A massive thanks to Peter from Yseulde for his invaluable feedback on the rough draft of the album.

The incredible Claire Rousay provided her percussion talents on "You are the Rock and the Star," and I am eternally grateful.
